The engineering and transport infrastructure department, through the CITETRANS research group at the University of Oviedo, is launching its seventh international student ideas competition to solicit proposals for resolving a transport network issue, titled "Mieres Campus Reload."
The competition is supported by the Mieres City Council; consequently, its objective is to intervene within the municipality's boundaries. In its 2025 edition, the competition focuses on defining public space and transport networks on university campuses. The Mieres campus, part of the University of Oviedo, is a benchmark for innovation and sustainability in the Asturian university landscape. Located in the heart of the mining basin, it occupies a strategic position within the municipality of Mieres, contributing significantly to the region's social, economic, and cultural development.
