engawa Magazine #26

Each issue of engawa magazine is a new experiment born from the image on its cover, which serves as a common thread. From there, the articles diverge, interweave, or simply juxtapose, forming a tapestry that everyone is invited to read, discuss, and contribute to.

Stripping away, removing layers, and exposing the skin until the intimate is revealed may seem like a simple path, but the truth is that nothing is ever truly naked. The skin is dressed in memories, tremors, taboos, and aspirations.

Pemjean’s models, even while playing with a snowy, homogeneous nudity, will never be completely naked. Their garments come from afar—from the real space that serves as their model, to the light that makes the space vibrate, or the gaze of the observer.
