Diverse workspaces face the challenge of new construction or the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, whether in geographically distant locations, urban or rural settings, cold or warm climates, and through creative, conventional, corporate, or collaborative functional approaches. They incorporate the richness of new technologies, resource and energy efficiency, recycling, flexibility, and sustainability, as well as the open character of spaces, the subtle boundaries between diverse environments, and connectivity across single or multiple levels to capture the spatial totality through interior and exterior transparencies. The contrast between the texture of solid materials and exposed installations is balanced by the interior treatment of virtual boundaries, characterized by unique details, materials, and colors. Physical or visual openness toward the exterior space is prioritized; in relation to their surroundings, these projects share an interest in the treatment of volumes, boundaries, forms, textures, and color, rather than dimensional magnitude. They appear transparent, free, and interconnected, adding lightness to heavy boundaries and flexibility to liberated spaces, with an order suggested through a variety of virtual boundaries supported by architecture and interior design. They deploy opaque and transparent boundaries, creating free and contemporary environments.
