New Brazilian University Campuses: Processes and Impacts brings together the implementation experiences of nine new Brazilian federal universities created—or which underwent significant expansion—between 2004 and 2014. This was a fertile period of pedagogical, methodological, and architectural-urban experimentation resulting from the involvement of the federal government and higher education institutions.
The book offers Brazilian universities—through their administrators, researchers, faculty, administrative staff, and students—a set of reflections on these experiences. It does so by presenting and critically analyzing the processes involved in each case and their most striking characteristics, employing appropriate distance and methodological strategy.
