Game of Goose: Maayan Elyakim Transforms Neutra's VDL House

"Game of Goose," is a site-specific exhibition at Los Angeles's iconic Neutra VDL House by multidisciplinary artist Maayan Elyakim. Curated by Dan Handel, this marks Elyakim's first solo exhibition in the U.S., following his 2022 show at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.

From April 26 to July 20, 2025, "Game of Goose" will thoughtfully reimagine Richard Neutra's landmark residence, guiding visitors through an architectural narrative inspired by the historic board game. Elyakim explores themes of movement, chance, and shifting mental states, transforming the modernist house into an immersive, reflective experience—from the cerebral to the experiential.

The exhibition features evocative sculptures, reflective installations, and unique artworks, each responding intimately to the building's rich history and spatial dynamics. Elyakim's work invites visitors to experience Neutra's architecture anew, prompting reflection on boundaries, mental landscapes, and the interplay between body, mind, and environment.
