Building Black Spaces [Berlin, Germany]

How do we construct and maintain community centers for People of African Descent in Western contexts? What are the many potentials and challenges of such an endeavor? How do we incorporate the groundwork that has already been conducted elsewhere and which dimensions require special attention to honor the diversity of needs in our communities?

Join us for a dynamic discussion on the creation and maintenance of Black community centers on Nov 25, 2023, from 1 – 5 PM at Each One Teach One (Togostraße 76, 13351 Berlin). We have assembled an extraordinary panel of experts, spanning construction, design, and architecture, to explore the perspectives and intricate challenges of constructing Black community centers in Western urban centers.

OK Sorted. will share a presentation on the topic of Building Black Spaces - approaching our theme through the lens of design context and communications craft - and illustrating this approach with their work for the Black Cultural Archives in London.
