MAM'23 - MAIA ARCHITECTURE MONTH
“IN PROCESS”
The Maia City Council promotes, in March and April 2023, this year's edition of Maia Architecture Month - an event dedicated entirely to architecture in the territory of Maia.
Titled “IN PROCESS”, this exhibition intends to emphasize the moment of significant and imminent transformation - likely unrepeatable, undergoing in this city and its overall territory.
The works produced in this edition will be presented to the public essentially in two formats: an exhibition and a parallel program of events – presentations, debates and exhibition tours – that will allow clarifying the exposed proposals, stimulate the dialogue and expand the discussion to the general public.
MAM'23 privileges immersive environments that allow a direct connection with the visitor.
“IN PROCESS” records and presents some of the main interventions that are currently taking place in the city, an emphasis is placed on projects of a more public nature. Architects, as well as professionals from other disciplinary areas, are invited to present their readings on these transformations, understanding, explaining and complementing them.
The curatorial proposal of the SUMMARY atelier, coordinated by Samuel Gonçalves, presents itself as an ode to change, urban evolution and the social and economic dynamics felt in Maia in recent times.
It will feature the participation of: A Recoletora; Paulo Moreira Architectures; Merooficina; Rosmaninho+Azevedo; Oitoo; Teresa Leão and Ana Neiva; Álvaro Siza Vieira; Inplenitus; Alexander Burmester; José Castro Silva and José Carlos Macedo; aNC Architects; Paradox Architecture; Eduardo Souto Moura; CEFA-FAUP; Andreia Garcia; Nuno Lopes and Sérgio Amorim; Nuno Travasso; Alexandra Paio; Nuno Brandão Costa; Giuseppe Resta and Fabiana Dicuonzo.
The exhibition will be open until April 30th, and can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 10 pm.
