Detroit River Front Competition Entry / AMA

The main objective for the Detroit River Front proposal is to create a new image of the city, an exclusive and unique landmark that glances to a future Detroit involved in its nature that it forgot for a long time. Designed by Architetto Matteo Ascani (AMA), the project for the redevelopment of Hart Plaza is divided in major guide lines: water, nature, history. They provide a new landscape system, where water enters inside the plaza by canals that redesign the cost line, as the river comes closer to the downtown. Horizontal Farm / AMA

Designed by Architetto Matteo Ascani (AMA), their horizontal farm proposal is a flowing architecture system where the farming world meets the Indian slum in New Dehli. The project aims to create a balanced mix with farms, working areas and housing to improve the living conditions for the inhabitants. By doing this, their design is able to avoid the slum situations to enhance the micro-economy. ‘Farmandala’ also provides an urban scale development, involving the street life and a territorial scale development based on vertical flowing connections. This is done by means of ramps that climb shops, farms and the recycle factory connecting to walking trails in the fields on the top of the hills. By courageously connecting the design of the building with the territory, in constant dialogue with the urban texture, nature and its limits, Architetto Matteo Ascani (AMA) enhances the position of the new Beton Hala Waterfront Center within the city of Belgrade. Through their concept, the building becomes a mixed use area that blends culture, shopping and outdoor activities. Thanks to its strategic location served by the tram line, the Passenger river port and the main road Vojvode Bojovica Boulevard and Karadjordjeva a network of connections is created where the Beton Hala Waterfront Center is turned into an intermodal hub.
