This project in the Porta Romana district of Milan involved converting and furnishing an early 1900s industrial building into a modern living space while preserving its original character. Originally built in 1911 as a shoe factory, the building's industrial design reflected the dawn of the Industrial Age. Over time, it was converted into laboratories and workshops and underwent a redesign in the 1950s. Today, this building represents a fusion of industrial aesthetics and contemporary design, particularly by adopting a loft concept. The loft project features concrete floors adorned with rugs and high-quality Flexform products that blend heritage with modern elegance.
The sawtooth windows, characteristic of industrial buildings, were enhanced with LED strips to accentuate the geometry of the loft. Flexform's versatile furniture pieces complement the project's objective of creating distinct yet interconnected spaces. Meticulously crafted pieces add sophistication while preserving the original spirit of the project.
Flexform's furniture solutions are tailored to modern living, offering comfort, functionality, and style. From kitchen islands crafted from reclaimed materials to inviting seating arrangements in open-plan living areas, Flexform products integrate into the project's lifestyle-focused design ethos.
