More about this product

LONGOTON® panels are long-format clay tiles, patented and manufactured by the German company MOEDING. Their defining property is the possibility to elongate them up to 3,000 mm per piece and to adapt them to irregular shapes on facades.

This complex in Boland Quay, Dublin, uses three shades of LONGOTON® tiles on the facades of its three towers. The project, by BDK Architects, consists of the renovation of the area’s existing buildings and the introduction of working spaces with these three towers. They are complemented by the other uses of the zone’s plan: flats, restaurants, exhibition rooms, and more, in a surface of over 37,000 m2 in a combined renovation of the industrial heritage buildings and the new insertions.

The ceramic facade has LONGOTON® custom pieces glazed in three shades of red and two light shades of gray, inspired by the materials of the surrounding buildings-limestone and brick-, to reinterpret them through the shapes and surfaces of the tiles and the volumes of the towers. These shapes are designed in composition with the area’s existing skyline.

The LONGOTON® brick tile is characterized by its flexibility in shape and length, which can reach up to 3,000 mm. This brick tile was introduced into the market in 2001, as a response to the demand for long-format ceramic tiles.

The facade system offers:

  • long-lasting materials
  • natural resources
  • efficient production
  • economical development through fast and efficient installation
  • high individuality due to large design option potential
  • energy efficient
  • low maintenance
