The floor system is controlled with a touchscreen where the user can switch between a variety of types of playing fields including basketball, handball, netball, and volleyball making it a multifunctional flooring solution.
Elasticity and Floor Surface
The construction consists of an aluminum dual-support sprung floor ensuring that elasticity and absorption are consistent across the entire area, and offering a higher elasticity compared to wooden floors.
The glass surface is specially treated creating a homogenous and neutral surface with a low level of light reflection, removing glare. The integrated ceramic dots have been designed to number and size and ensure the floor contains non-slip properties that meet the standard of traditional sports floors.
Durability
ASB GlassFloor has an expected lifetime of 70 years. Besides using durable materials of aluminum, glass, and ceramic, the glass surface is finished with a matt surface ensuring that it doesn't show scratches or other wear and tear. The ceramic dots don't deteriorate from abrasion. The LEDs have a minimum life expectancy of 50,000 hours.
The properties of the floor also make it suited for non-traditional use including non-sporting events and the use of heavy equipment on the flooring.
