Oris House of Architecture gallery in Zagreb, Croatia has been a place of many relevant architectural events since its openning – exhibitions such as Poetry of Boxes by Mathias Klotz, Kohki Hiranuma, Smiljan Radić, BUS:STOP Krumbach and Getting Things Done: Evolution of the Built Environment in Vorarlberg.

Its recent exhibition is that of Catalan studio RCR Arquitectes' works through photographs by the likes of Hisao Suzuki, Pep Sau, Emilia Roia and Marc Checinski.

The polyvalent hall of House of Architecture has been shaped to host big format placards, presenting the projects, and atmospheric photographs find their place on the walls and rotatable panels of window covers. Visitors can also enjoy a short movie made by the Catalan government, introducing RCR.

Among the works exhibited are their most successful projects that were praised through many awards: Bathing Pavilion from 1998, Athletic Track Tussols-Basil from 2002 and Marquee for Les Cole Restaurant from 2011, all located in Olot, Spain, where RCR is based. They are presented along with other project such are Punta Aldea Lighthouse, Las Palmas, Spain, 1988 and Bell-lloc Winery, Palamos, Spain, 2007. Through stunning professional photography projects are brought to life and presented in a refreshing and enthralling way.

RCR Arquitectes is a Catalan architectural office that has been working since 1987. Known also by its other name as Aranda, Pigem i Vilalta arquitectes, its founders are Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta who have decided to stay in Olot, Spain, far from the urgency and stress of the big city, focusing on a patient reinterpretation of the place with its landscape and its materials, and at the same time, to continue their in-depth work with materialization and with particular craftspeople and industries. Nearly 30 years after, the work of RCR Arquitectes is vast and ripe after many projects and two major milestones, Dubai projects in 2007 and the entry for Soulages Museum in Rodez. Even though their Dubai projects were never built, they were a great experimental laboratory for materials, relationships, gradients and interior spaces.

Aranda, Pigem and Vilalta and their office have achieved the National Award in Architecture in Catalonia in 2005, are Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the French Republic since 2008, Honorary Fellows of the American Institute of Architecture since 2010 and most recently won the International Award Belgian Building Awards in 2011. They were also finalists twice for European Union Mies Van der Rohe award. Their works have been exhibited in many galleries and they were published in noteworthy architectural journals such as El Croquis and AV among others.

Oris magazine for architecture and culture of living has been active since 1998. The magazine is published bimonthly in Croatian and English. The editorial concept of the magazine is based on the promotion and evaluation of buildings of cultural significance. Since its launch the magazine has been focused on architecture produced by outstanding individuals and highly valuable works, with the certain emphasis on the Middle-European context.

Oris House of Architecture is a place of meetings, socializing, creativity and good vibrations; a place for the promotion of architecture, design, art and culture. In the attractive area of over 600 square meters there is a multimedia hall, readers‘ corner Forcimer, offices of the Oris magazine and the web portal and the club restaurant Voncimer.

For this occasion Oris has published a catalog about RCR architecture. It can be found among other publications in Oris House of Architecture's library and shop.
