Text description provided by the architects. DA-LAB has been part of the COMUNAL family for almost two years now. So when they decided to grow bigger and remodelate their spaces they called us right away. Along with SED ESTUDIO we joined forces to complement the architectural proposal with a graphic / artistic intervention.

THE PROBLEM

COMUNAL was growing fast and needed to expand its offices and common areas. They needed meeting rooms, a larger kitchen, a library, a larger dining area and more work spaces. The new space into which they were expanding to was a residential loft so the intrevention required a lot of ingenuity from behalf of all our team to avoid“dead spaces”.

THE CONCEPT - WORK & PLAY

The "work & play" strategy is a new way to improve the productivity of workers by having recreational areas to relax and create situations of leisure in the office. Major companies in Silicon Valley have already implemented it with great results, so why not do it in COMUNAL? While it is a strategy mostly used in emerging technology companies in the United States and Europe, we shared the same intention: The office should be a place where you want to be at any time and any day of the week. Our priority was to satisfy the clients need for additional spaces while keeping them the more playful and fun as possible and giving equal importance to their functionality, aesthetics, and their flexibility.
