From the architect. The Izabelin House is a two story mirror house concept that is formed of two horizontally configured blocks. The house’s lower storey is clad with reflective paneling.

These mirrored surfaces appear as an extension of the forest floor, with opaque areas stacked above. The bottom level includes also a sheltered terrace in a shade of dark brown wood that matches the surrounding earth.

The second floor appears to float above its mirrored base, a levitating box that will hover in the thick forest.

Why publish a "concept" that has been seen so many times...and whith images that try to trick you into reality.... better go see " F for fake" from Stanley kubrick... Archdaily please avoid publishing renders.. and promoting image-driven-architecture. There is enough built reality we want to know about, even if it not fashionable or contempo-rarity.

Nice renderings of an interesting concept. Would like to see some photos of the house when it's built. Good use of reflective materials to integrate house into surroundings. Perhaps the architects could have been more imaginative in the use of space instead of all flat ceilings, and the standard "box on top of box" residential design we see so much of these days.,

I do not like the design . Generates a synthetic feeling that has nothing to do with the surrounding landscape.

Phillip Bond · March 15, 2015

Might be nice to have a live in window washer.

Bobert · March 14, 2015

Looks good, but the images shown are not photos, they're renderings!

Love this design. Seems like a lot of birds will die. Could generate substantial sustenance for the occupants.
