MLZD and Sollberger Bögli Win Competition to Design Lausanne Football Stadium

MLZD and Sollberger Bögli Architekten have won an international competition to design a 12,000-seat Tuilière Lausanne Football Stadium in Switzerland. The €70 million project is part of a larger redevelopment plan for northern Lausanne and will serve as the city’s main sporting venue upon completion in 2019.

"Its proximity to the centre of football and athletics will drive a strong synergy between the two infrastructures," stated city officials in a statement. "Besides rationalization of land use, this will create a link between all generations of players."

Surrounded by public space, the rectangular stadium will lift at its corners to provide access into the venue. Training Spaces, offices, media areas, storage and a restaurant will all be incorporated into the design.
