Call for Artists PAiD: Public Artists in Development Artist Council RFQ

PAiD: Public Artists in Development is a visionary program from the LA County Department of Arts & Culture, funded by the Mellon Foundation, with development and delivery by Dyson & Womack. It's a groundbreaking initiative that's set to reshape the future of public art in our community.

This call for artists is for the PAiD Program Artist Council. The Artist Council is an eight-member group of artists selected to create temporary public artworks and to shape the future of Los Angeles County’s public art policy and processes.

The Artist Council is an eight-member group of artists selected to create temporary public art projects. This group will be a platform for artist-led strategies and meaningful discussions about LA County Arts and Culture's public art, equity, and inclusion policies and procedures. Selected artists will participate in an 8 to 10 month long, two-part program of dialogue and art creation. Dyson & Womack, along with other arts and culture leaders, will work with the Artist Council to make recommendations on policies and procedures and develop temporary public art projects.

This opportunity is open to artists living in LA County who are interested in considering how public art policies and processes impact access, equity, and sustainability. We encourage artists working in diverse media and across all career levels to apply, including those who have historically been underrepresented in the public art field.

Selected artists will receive a stipend of $5,500 for program participation and a temporary public art project budget of $22,500.
