The house reflects our proposal for contemporary architecture focused on the integration between interior and exterior, valuing pure proportions, natural materials, lighting, and cross ventilation. The office values formal simplicity and the choice of materials that bring comfort and warmth to the residents. From the beginning of the project, we have considered its materiality and volumetry, the voids and solids, the light and the shadow.

São Carlos Residence / Gui Mattos

A quite solid facade, which reveals nothing of its interior, invites the resident to enter through a wooden door, almost timid, which, set back a bit, is the only opening in this almost hermetic volume. Despite its discretion, this elevation has an intriguing fact. It quickly reveals the three main elements of the project: the ground floor in concrete, the first floor in white-painted masonry, and the wood, which varies in function, serving as doors, panels, and slats.

Located on an urban lot within a consolidated neighborhood in the central region of the city of São Carlos, in the interior of the State of São Paulo, the project for this residence opts for a volumetric configuration facing the interior of the lot, with the intention of guaranteeing maximum privacy to the residents. The landscaping was designed at the same time and plays a fundamental role in shaping spaces, composing backgrounds and controlling temperature and solar incidence.

Stripping and functionality. These have been the customers' requests when requesting the project. With a generous, urban terrain and without any natural attractions in the surroundings, the house has been designed from clear volumes, natural materials, always seeking cross ventilation and natural lighting. In relation to the street, quite airtight, in no way suggesting the breadth and integration of the internal areas.

The house has been designed to make the most of the view of the forest landscape. Due to the dimensions of the terrain - narrow in width and long in length_ we`ve chosen small patios. At the front access, a large exposed concrete marquee, which, more than a shelter for cars, serves as a covered square directly connected to the forest.

Facing the sunset in the countryside plains of the of the state of São Paulo (Brazil) and with a privileged view, the LLP House, signed by lbmr, evokes integration as the project's main point. Complemented by a land that rises and binds the landscape to the house’s common areas, the office proposed a broad plan where residents could gaze the view at different times of the day.

The simplicity of the shapes and the clean volume without any information made it possible to create a mini-release in the facade block, making it free from the ground a few centimeters. And those six inches so small by such an important building turned out to be giant and named the project Flying House.

Located in a very busy corner of the city, in a building that originally housed an old grocery store. With bricks and large openings, the Jolly Gastro Lab is certainly noticed by those who pass by. Lab (Lab) was the keyword, so the environment should have this unfinished and deconstructed vibe, in constant experiments and changes. The building should support the idea of the bar: drinks and gastronomy.
