Casa Catedral is a project that prioritizes the honesty of materiality, using specially crafted blocks and concrete without additional cladding to achieve both economic efficiency and a dignified aging process. The layout of the residence follows a linear axis, consisting of four main volumes and a connector. These volumes, delimited by load-bearing walls and lattices, effectively separate public and private areas, ensuring a balanced scale and maintaining the privacy of each space. In addition, a careful south-east orientation guarantees panoramic views from every corner of the house and promotes a seamless connection with the surrounding canyon landscape.

Casa Prada is located on land adjacent to a golf course facing the Amazcala Valley within the Sierra Gorda of Querétaro. One of the first lines of the design was the use of the views offered by the environment and the other is the importance of the social areas as a main part of the architectural program for the development of the project. Casa Prada is formed in stages, locating the social area on the upper floor to have a clear view of the valley and the golf course from most of its spaces; It is developed in a staggered manner due to the natural slopes of the land so that the circulation within the spaces works with internal vertical circulations that connect the social areas and the private areas.

This house is an investment project. At the request of the client, a single-family house was built for sale on a lot with a very attractive location within the city of Querétaro. It had to be functional for the general public since it had no final user at the time of its design and construction, but with finishes and details that would stand out from the rest of the properties in the area. The upper floor houses the private area that consists of three bedrooms, each with a bathroom and a dressing room in the main one. On the ground floor, they have space for three cars, a study, a half bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a laundry room, and a terrace.

Throughout the years, Mexican cities had experimented with urban and regulation changes -sometimes unplanned- due to the demand for living spaces, creating a void and density difference between the downtown neighborhoods and the outside suburbs. On that basis, living in a community and recovering the public space to re-densify the city, have been the values and goals to share from our trench to deal with the uncontrolled urban growth. These concepts served as a starting point to become reality in this multi-dwelling building in the heart of Querétaro.

Enigma’s facade assembles a small-sized house, which is discovered to be bigger as you enter the same. A simple and noble architecture can be appreciated in the facade along with a trichromatic conjugation of plain white, gray quarry, and wood. The terrain has the peculiarity of being composed of a 6-meter front that opens 6 more meters on the opposite side, with a depth of 19 meters.
