The World Heritage Committee decided to inscribe the Historic Center of the Port City Odesa, Ukraine, on the World Heritage List. The decision symbolizes the recognition of the outstanding value of the site and the commitment of the 194 States Party of the Convention not to undertake any deliberate step that may damage it and to help protect it. The site has also been inscribed on the List of World Heritage in Danger, which gives it access to international financial or technical assistance to ensure its protection and, if necessary, assist in its rehabilitation, according to UNESCO.

This room is the first part of a large hotel project, which I started to design half a year ago. The design of this interior was inspired by the JB movies from 80th. I wanted to make one number not like the rest. It will be luxurious, liberated and show a contrast between a brutal "cave" looking walls and a many cozy corners and zones in it. Pic1 Bedroom I like to feel the surface of the material tactilely and not visually and compare materials by touching them. I call this tactile contrast. So, for example, a soft carpet will seem even softer if before that you walked on a hard cold concrete floor. I also like to draw people's attention to the fact that the materials to the touch may not be what they seem visually. For example, this Cini Boeri's armchairs looks like a cold piece of glass, but they are surprisingly convenient and comfortable when you sit in it.

When designing this object, there was not an easy task - to create not a mass-market, to get away from the usual look of a women's store. Gray but the warm minimalistic interior has become our choice. Concrete floor and ceiling decided to leave the builders. Some walls were left in concrete, and decorative plaster was applied to the rest. Accent colors are gray, pink and dark blue.

The plot is situated on the edge of a steep plateau and occupies the borderline position in the row of houses. This position invited a plentiful of interpretations of open and closed spaces. The combination of two volumes was arranged in such a way so as to allow an uninterrupted sightline between the sea and the house situated behind our plot. The location of the house itself was largely determined by the desire to preserve as many of the existing trees as possible. Another important factor was the necessity to create a harmonious interrelation between the house, the garden and the sea view. These three environments are placed each along its own line and they interact in a variety of ways, depending on the position of the observer (whether it is the garden, the house or the mirador).

Yandex, the largest Russian IT company has recently opened its new office in Odessa, Ukraine. It is located on the 8th floor of ‘Morskoy-2’ business center. A 1760 sq. m. office is arranged around a light shelf and is tailored for 122 workplaces. Close to the atrium are the spaces, with no need for intensive lighting — meeting rooms, lecture hall and other premises, which are not used on a regular basis. Work areas are open-space and are mainly located along the windows. The windows, by the way, are facing the Black Sea and the picturesque port of Odessa. There are just several separated premises here: coffee-point, meeting rooms, canteen, and the sports zone, with table tennis, foosball, cardio-vascular machines and gymnastic accessories.
