Centered around open communication, negotiation, and compromise, the project aims to introduce 500 new apartments and <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/community-center" target="_blank" rel="noopener">community spaces </a>to enhance the neighborhood. Approximately 50% of the scheme is designated as social or affordable housing, which was designed in participatory processes with the residents. </p>]]>

Developed by AM and designed by a team including <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/office/mvrdv" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MVRDV</a>, <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/office/orange-architects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Orange Architects,</a> and <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/lola-landscape-architects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LOLA Landscape Architect</a>, the scheme introduces residential homes, creative workspaces, dining establishments, and various neighborhood amenities. At the core of the new design is the newly renovated Wärtsilä hall, a former <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/factory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">factory </a>redesigned with a signature undulating roof topped by a hovering wooden <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/apartment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">apartment block.</a></p>]]>

The project includes an area of approximately 1.2 square kilometers located in a strategic place to serve the larger scientific community, from Guangdong, to Hong Kong, and Macao.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>Landscape architects and urban planning team <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/office/landlab" target="_blank">LandLAB</a> was selected as the winner of the <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/964850/open-international-competition-for-an-architectural-and-urban-planning-concept-for-the-development-of-the-imeretinskaya-embankment-on-the-sirius-federal-territory" target="_blank">international competition for the seafront promenade development in Sirius federal territory</a>. The New Zealand-based team was chosen among 68 practices and 48 countries for offering the most "efficient use of the limited space available and respecting the distinctive features of the area". The winning proposal blends the Olympic heritage with the landscape, and transforms the area into a dynamic interface that provides a stimulating environment for residents and visitors. </p>]]>

Located in southeastern Amsterdam, Bijlmerbajes has been seen as a distant landmark for the city since its construction in the 1970s. But with recent expansions, the once peripheral site has moved to the center of new urban development, making the property prime location for redevelopment.</p>]]>
