        <![CDATA[<p>The <a href="https://competitions.malcolmreading.com/butrint?utm_medium=website&amp;utm_source=archdaily.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Butrint Management Foundation</a> (BMF) has revealed the four teams that will design the new <a href="/tag/visitor-center">visitor center</a> for Butrint National Park, a <a href="https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/?utm_medium=website&amp;utm_source=archdaily.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UNESCO World Heritage Site</a> on <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/search/articles?q=Albania&amp;ad_source=search&amp;ad_medium=articles_tab" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Albania</a>’s Ionian coastline. <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/office/kengo-kuma-and-associates?ad_source=search&amp;ad_medium=search_result_professionals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kengo Kuma &amp; Associates</a>, <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/office/lahdelma-and-mahlamaki" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lahdelma &amp; Mahlamäki Architects</a>, <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/office/agence-darchitecture-philippe-prost" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Philippe PROST / AAPP</a>, and <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/office/william-matthews-associates?ad_source=search&amp;ad_medium=search_result_professionals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">William Matthews Associates</a> were selected to create concept designs for the 1,000m² visitor hub at the country’s most iconic cultural destination, home to artifacts and structures dating from the Iron Age up until the Middle Ages. The proposals will be judged in 2023, and the new visitor center is due to completion in 2025.</p>]]>

Located between the low-lying neighborhood of Puu-Raksila and the high-rising city center, the complex will connect districts through large, arching openings puncturing through a dynamic, horizontal profile, while providing new housing for the city.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>A professor of economics, Sixten Korkman has chosen <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/lahdelma-and-mahlamaki/">Lahdelma &amp; Mahlamäki Architects</a>' <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/441658/museum-of-the-history-of-polish-jews-lahdelma-and-mahlamaki-kurylowicz-and-associates/">Museum of the History of Polish Jews</a> in <a href="/tag/warsaw">Warsaw</a> as the winner of the inaugural <strong>Finlandia Prize for Architecture</strong>. The unconventional award, whose intent is to “increase public awareness of high quality Finnish architecture and highlights its benefits for our well-being,” enlisted a group of renowned architects to shortlist the finalists before “layman” Korkman selected the winner as an unbiased representative of the public who valued the building for the way it made him “feel.”</p>]]>
