Tres Patis House / TwoBo arquitectura

In the plains of Empordà, a few kilometers from the Greco-Roman ruins of Empúries, stands Casa Tres Patis, a single-family home of 300 m² that interprets the classic archetypes of the Mediterranean villa in a contemporary language. Designed by Twobo architecture, the project is based on a central idea: to create a livable space where architecture interacts with light, wind, water, and the body.

Under the shelter of Girona Temps de Flors, a well-known festival that for over half a century has adorned the city with floral displays, "(FL)oratori" emerges. This ephemeral creation is located in a privileged enclave, tangentially situated to the majestic Girona Cathedral, in addition to enjoying a peripheral view, occupying one of the highest points of the old town.

The new High School is located on a plot at the boundary between residential and industrial areas, in one of the most important avenues of the industrial sector, on the threshold of the future equipment of the city. The implementation recognizes the importance of the main avenue, from which the building is accessed, and is arranged with the alignment of the main façade, but without renouncing a sequence of filters that allow distance from the street.

P-House is located in Girona (Spain) and consists of a single building with four winds; its location in the upper part of the plot allows its inhabitants to enjoy privileged views. The building combines contemporary design with the criteria of a very low-energy consumption building (NZEB), and its high-energy efficiency has been certified by the German Passivhaus standard.

The project sets the restoration of the Sant Julià's Castle enclosure - 19th century fortress- and the recovery of its surroundings, through the creation of a facility to host a Contemporary Arts Centre, accompanied of complementary services: workshops for artists, auditorium, hotel and restaurants. The fortress is formed by a set of units, built with vaults and walls made of stone with considerable thickness, the majority of them half-buried and communicated through tunnels that run across the mountain.

This project combines our fascination of 50’s and 60’s furniture by Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand with the typical rural architecture of the Empordà (in Catalonia). Creating a country house, a rural palace of the early twentieth century, the project works as a home-gallery with open spaces that allow exhibit works of art and classical furniture from the private collection of the owner to be showcased.

The new library is located on a large rectangular plot in the center of Girona. Bounded on the north by busy Avenue Emili Grahit, the site is embedded in a dense and compact neighborhood of tall residential blocks. These urban conditions – plus the fact that this is the largest library in the network of public libraries in Catalunya – contributed to the development of a design strategy based on two main considerations.

The building of 115 dwellings is located in the area of the northern entrance of Girona, in an area next to "Puig d'en Roca". Promoted by the “Patronat Santa Creu de la Selva”, comprises varied apartment types, designed for people over 65 years old with a low rental cost. The project was developed especially taking care of the collective spaces of socialization, and at the same time, developing technological solutions in the field of sustainability and energy savings.
