Providing a new learning environment for one of the UK's leading independent schools, the project will be the first of six new schools built in <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/country/china">China</a>. Made to embrace the latest pedagogical thinking, the design also includes references to the famous Westminster Abbey as well as traditional British school vernacular of Victorian red brick with gable ends.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p dir="ltr">For their first major project in <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/australia">Australia</a>, international design firm <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/broadway-malyan">Broadway Malyan</a> has been selected by the developers behind <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/greater-springfield">Greater Springfield</a>, the continent’s largest master-planned community, to design a new health-focused district around the site of Mater Private Hospital Springfield outside <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/brisbane">Brisbane</a>. Already a healthcare hub containing the hospital, Aveo Springfield Retirement Village and a hotel, the proposed development would expand the so-called “health city” to include a hospital expansion, medical offices, residential and retail space, as well as facilities for wellness, education, research, hospitality, aged care, and start-up businesses.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>A total of 15 projects have been shortlisted for <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/riba">RIBA</a> North West 2015 <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/awards">Awards</a>, featuring buildings by <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/john-mcaslan-partners/">John McAslan + Partners</a>, <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/feilden-clegg-bradley-studios/">Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios</a>, <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/muma/">MUMA</a> and <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/carmody-groarke/">Carmody Groake</a>. All shortlisted buildings will now be assessed by a regional jury. Regional winners will then be considered for a RIBA National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, the results of which will place some projects in the running for the 2015 RIBA Stirling Prize. The 2014 <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/riba-stirling-prize">RIBA Stirling Prize</a> was won by <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/haworth-tompkins/">Haworth Tompkins</a> for the <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/558101/haworth-tompkins-everyman-theatre-wins-the-2014-riba-stirling-prize/">Everyman Theatre</a> in Liverpool, a project which was shortlisted by this branch of the RIBA. <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/feilden-clegg-bradley-studios/">Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios</a>' <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/458040/manchester-school-of-art-feilden-clegg-bradley-studios/">Manchester School of Art</a> also made it to the national finals.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>The competition to masterplan <a href="https://www.archdaily.com/tag/muscat">Muscat</a>, <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/oman/">Oman</a>’s new district, Al-Irfan, is over. Organized by the <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/tag/riba/">Royal Institute of British Architects</a> (RIBA), five teams were chosen to submit proposals for the development project. Of those five, international firm <strong><a href="http://www.alliesandmorrison.com/?utm_medium=website&amp;utm_source=archdaily.com" target="_blank">Allies and Morrison</a></strong> has been selected to oversee the design process. The firm will be working in with the Oman Tourism Development Company SAOC (Omran) to develop a site of over 7.4 million square meters into a thriving urban center that will provide business and residential opportunities for the people of Oman.</p>]]>
