The new high school in Boulogne - Billancourt occupies a virtually triangular plot of land between Rue de Meudon and Traverse Jules Guesde. Its point is on Place Jules Guesde square, and the high party wall of an apartment building forms the third side at the bottom end of the plot. This emblematic public amenity of the town occupies a special location, at the junction between the old district of Boulogne - Billancourt and the new district developed on the site of the former Renault factory. We considered that this building should act as a link of transition between two urban worlds with very distinct characteristics: on one hand, Place Jules Guesde square and Rue de Meudon, which keep the atmosphere of the old neighbourhoods with their high buildings forming a continuous street frontage; on the other hand, on Traverse Jules Guesde, the modern city that is developing with its more scattered urban fabric as regards both its various heights and its architectural forms and styles.

The renovation of the entire forum, 797 social housing units built in the mid 70's by architects Daniel Babani and Pierre Roux-Dorlut, builds on the strength of the original building. The program advocated the use of exterior insulation. Our first conviction was that the building draws its strength and character from its architectonic concrete facades. A generalized packaging was thus excluded.

The ‘Golden Cube’ student residence project is situated on the ‘A4 Est’ sector of Le Trapèze. This particular lot acts as a point of liason between the existing Boulogne and the new construction development. Here there is a strong importance surrounding the unification of urban density, diversity and pleasure, underscored by the incorporation of ecology and bio-diversity, in order to integrate nature into the heart of the urban environment.

The Pont de Sèvres Towers, renamed Citylights following a complete restructuring, were built in 1975 by architects Badani and Roux-Dorlut. Bearing witness to the era’s architectural modernity, they stood high and dense in the midst of a barren urban territory. The restructuring turned this sense of “isolation” into an asset, on a socio-economic as well as an urban level.
