Two functions, two halls, one ensemble. The new schoolhouse and double sports hall are two independent volumes that extend the ensemble of Weissenstein school complex. They define a new school yard and events space for the school and the community. The facades of the new buildings adopt the light-coloured clinker brick used throughout the complex but laid in a stretcher and Flemish bond.

The rental area of 27,800 square metres radiates an open and vibrant atmosphere that would delight Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Dewie and Louie, known in German as Tic, Tric and Trac, who have given the complex its name. baumschlager eberle have devised a spatial concept that meets current needs for highly flexible and cost-effective commercial space. The ensemble’s showpiece is a 700 square metre creative mall linking all three buildings at the first floor level. This multifunctional open area provides an informal meeting point for the tenants and ample space for events. The ground floor will accommodate shops, cafés and restaurants catering for the daily needs of the tenants and local residents.

A house with two components of spaces; chambers and voids. The chambers fulfill precisely identified purposes, the voids can anticipate to all the rest yet to come: the chambers are conceived for individual family members, the void to meet and be together.

The New Crematorium at the Woodland Cemetery, Stockholm. The new crematorium is located in an undulating terrain in a wild wood section of the Woodland Cemetery. Surrounding the building is an area of massive, century old, pines. The building is a compact brick structure about 150 meters away from the major chapel complex by Eric Gunnar Asplund of 1940. The motto of the project in the anonymous international competition in 2009 was ” A stone in the Forest”.
