A building led by an integrated mastery, with a certain exhilaration: deadlines respected, budgets respected, architectural concept respected, since the first models and stacking slabs - still sheets of cardboard - at the edge of the valley, until the final image, where the room boxes continue to hover slightly over the stack of treatment floors. Completed in 2007, he brought back his harvest of distinctions. One of the architects' favorite comments: ... "Un exemple d’architecture civile qui met l’utilisateur au centre de la conception, la lecture des espaces est claire. Les apports de lumière naturelle construisent une ambiance sereine et permettent d’articuler les fonctions. L’implantation suit une logique ancienne et efficace qu’on retrouve dans les anciens couvents et dans les premiers hôpitaux où le plan présentait des corps de bâtiment alternés par des cours vastes et éclairées en exploitant des circulations essentielles mais magnifiées par les arcs et les voûtes." The construction of a public lift between the historic district of Pfaffenthal and the upper city of Luxembourg was a multi-challenges project: to promote soft mobility (pedestrians and bicycles), to open up a valley floor district with a free and fast mean of transportation, and to create a work of art, emblematic for the district and harmoniously integrated in this landscape protected by UNESCO.

The clearly defined volumes play with the concepts of heaviness and lightness. Anchored volumes and floating bodies creating large overhangs. The four facades were treated with regard to local conditions: The few openings to neighboring buildings are partially covered in wooden slats in order to filter the views from and to the most private areas.
