Creating a Dual Spatial Configuration
Only a small part of the original temple site is legally buildable, while the rest are basic farmlands. Within these constraints, a dual spatial configuration is adopted to reflect both the heritage of Lv Ancestral Home and the historical temple site. The west side builds on the base of current ancestral shrine to create a renewed cultural field, while the east focuses on evoking the memory of the original Yongle Palace. Visitors come from the west to search for the east, retracing a path that begins from informal vitality and ends with a structured ritual experience, reviving the historical interplay between everyday life and official sanctity.

Xihoudu historical site is located at the junction of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan provinces. Mountain Zhongtiao to the north, Mountain Hua to the south, the site is close to the corner of the curving Yellow River. It is one of the most important archaeological sites of ancient human activities, where the remains of fire first used by human back to 1.8 million years ago, was founded in early 1960s. It was enlisted in the third group of the national key cultural relic sites.

A group of public shower rooms, restrooms, was located on the south part of the 2km long Shanhaitian beach park in Rizhao, east China. Due to the wider beach and adequate land in south, the more stretched prototype could be realised. Between the buildings and the sea, outdoor space was created to hold different outdoor activities. Skylight was brought into the buildings to save energy.

LanQiao clubhouse is located on the south part of the 2km long Shanhaitian beach park in Rizhao, east China. The 1150 square meter building includes saunas, cafe, and an outdoor swimming pool. Each facility is uniquely functioned so together can provide a complete touristic experience to its visitors.
