Plot 6 is an urban ensemble with social rental housing comprising 170 studios for young people and 30 apartments for seniors. It is part of the significant urban transformation of the former industrial area Oostenburgereiland into a new residential district with approximately 1,500 homes in Amsterdam. The studios for young people are housed in the residential tower 'De Stork,' designed by Next Architects, and residential blocks 'De Sluis' and 'De Werkplaats,' designed by Urban Echoes. The apartments for seniors are located in the corner building 'De Stoomkracht,' designed by HOH Architects. HOH was also responsible for the design of the urban ensemble and the courtyard garden.

On the newly developed Centrumeiland next to IJburg in Amsterdam, innovative construction methods are being implemented, resulting in a diverse and sustainable living environment. In addition to private plots, small Collective Private Commissioning (CPO) projects and self-build housing cooperatives are being realized. Furthermore, the municipality of Amsterdam has issued Co-Commissioning (MO) plots, where developers collaborate with future owners to create apartment complexes. The MO project named Mooijburg encompasses three of these plots and has been awarded to Mooijburg BV, a consortium consisting of DGV Group, Evergreen Building Development, and Weever Bouw, with the intention to develop in collaboration with future residents.

Combining apartments with a care home in IJburg. It all proved possible on an impossible triangular plot. The project location is a long, triangular plot of land that the client, De Alliantie, was eager to develop. The site is part of the Haveneiland area in IJburg. The urban plan features compact blocks at the center of the island, which become more open and spacious towards the edges by the water. Part of the project location was designated for Marius Meijboom, a living-and-care home for children and adults with complex disabilities.

The first housing project for the monastery complex Oude Dijk in Tilburg, home to the congregation of the Sisters of Charity, has been completed. It is part of the first step in the transformation of the monumental complex in the city center of Tilburg, currently still populated by 120 Sisters. The master plan by Shift aims at realizing elderly and care homes for the aging Sisters and safeguarding the monasterial qualities of the site while at the same time opening the introverted complex towards the city, both physically and in terms of (new) residents. The first apartment building for 36 Sisters connects to the city, the monumental motherhouse and chapel, the monastery garden, and the adjacent nursing home. Its sober and subtly differentiated architecture in brick is informed by the rich historical context without becoming pastiche or retro.

Based on an elongated U-shaped floorplan, our Villa JM presents a secretive stone face to the world, revealing only a tantalizing glimpse of its inner world in the shape of its central courtyard. Inspired by the location, an extensive wooded site in the south of the Netherlands, we discreetly positioned expanses of glass to offer our clients the best of the natural views, while closed volumes safeguard their privacy. Natural stone and wood add depth to our elementary one-story design, which pairs sober straight lines and monumental volumes with seductive curves and sinuous glass walls.

Bureau Fraai was appointed by Stadgenoot Development to design a residential building with 21 middle-income rental apartments on the island that for the last four centuries had been known as an industrial area. After it started four centuries ago as the home of the shipyards of the Dutch East India Company, it remained an industrial area for the major part of the 19th and 20th century when among others heavy machinery and locomotives were produced in the still existing iconic Van Gendthallen. As the city centre of Amsterdam is densifying, Island Oostenburg is now transformed into a lively high-density, and mixed-use neighbourhood.

Towards high-density low-rise. This project is in its core a typological experiment: a maximum of individual homes with private gardens on a relatively small urban plot; a model for the development of more compact settlements with a density of approx. 40 houses per hectare. It aims to offer an alternative to living on the periphery of big cities for people who would like to live in a private house in a more urban context. The project tries to find answers to the typological challenges inherent to high-density low-rise developments: How much individuality is possible? How much privacy is necessary? How much collective form is required? How much community and social interaction is desirable?

A school that shows what it stands for and adds substance to its Originally, the Augustinianum was a traditional grammar school run by Augustinian clerics. The existing buildings from the 1950s no longer met the demands of present times, which is why the decision was made to realize compact new buildings on the former sports grounds located alongside the existing buildings.
