The Sauska Tokaj winery is located in the UNESCO-protected wine region of Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary. The light shape of the building hovering above the vineyards blends delicately into the protected landscape, while its breathtaking appearance greatly contributes to the tourism development of the wine region. The specific features of the local volcanic terrain in the region and the continental climate created ideal conditions for viticulture, even before pre-conquest times.

Designed by T2a Architects and completed recently on the site of a former river gravel pit on the banks of the Danube in Budapest, the Danubio residential building responds to the unique urban and natural environment, partially overriding the rules of Budapest real estate developers, and realizes a concept that treats sustainability not only as a slogan but also revives many pre-existing but now forgotten architectural solutions and recreates them in a modern, timeless form.

The House of Hungarian Music, in the heart of the City Park of Budapest, is not only a museum but a larger vision encompassing past and future, people and culture, nature, and the sciences of music. It is not about displaying but inviting in, going away from simple contemplation to suggest participation and interactions. The essence of sound and music, hearing, can be brought in much deeper ways. Away from the conventional exhibition spaces, classrooms, or event halls, we chose to let architecture cradle the visitors along their way. With no clear path, pedestrians meander around the museum, as they would do around the park, invading the space like a continuous flow whose intensity varies along with the days, just as sound permeates space, bouncing around surfaces, running along the walls.

Phase 1 provides a public face for the university, a new entrance on axis with the Danube, a library and learning café for citizens and students. The campus becomes integrated with the urban realm.

Tero Auvinen, UEFA consultant, named our new Stadium after Robin Hood referring to it’s amazing location in the middle of the forest. Is it really possible to set a modern football stadium in the heart of the woods? How can such a monumental building adapt to the human scale and provide a people-friendly environment? What is the design concept by which the stadium is able to refl ect the local traditions, national prides and values to create an unforgettable, unique atmosphere and sense of space? How to build a sport venue time- and cost-effectively with high quality and to operate it in a sustainable manner? The Stadium of Nagyerdo designed by the Hungarian architect, Peter Bordas, gives an interesting response to these questions.

Esterházy Etyeki Kuria Winery is one of the leading wineries in the famous Hungarian wine region of Etyek. As a part of a complex development the ownersof the winery commissioned BORD Architectural Studio to design a new, modern factory and visitors’ centre, which blends well with the special atmosphere of the region and has an iconic appearance. The site is situated on the picturesque slope of Öreghegy, which is characterized by little, pretty pressing houses between the rows of grapes. Therefore the main concept of the design was to adjust the new building complex both to the unique manmade world and the amazing nature. The volume of the new complex integrating the existing cellar and pressing house reflects the characteristic scale of the surrounding buildings in a new interpretation. The new mass of the winery with the gable roofs on it,standing in line next to each other playfully, providesa contemporary character to the house.
