El Quadró de les Vinyes is a plot of land of 900 m2 in the municipality of Albons, in Baix Empordà, Catalunya. It is a piece of village, an empty space, an allotment, a square plot of farmland planted with vines that has never been built on, occupied by just a small self-built shed to house tools. Three of its four edges are defined by the proximity of old constructions in this small rural village, and the fourth is open to lovely views of the Empordà area. Our task was to complete this fragment of village.

The Historical Archive of the Garraf Region is situated on a corner in an industrial area of Vilanova i la Geltrú. It contains only a part of the general archive which is placed inside the Geltrú’s Castle in the old town of Vilanova.

New Cervelló School / BCQ Arquitectura

This is a friendly school that encourages domestic and family treatment among students and teachers. The horizontal and serene buildings sit naturally in the field. The building aspect of clean form reflects the clarity of their role: they are the platform for teaching.

The housing should occupy a portion of land resulting from segregation of a plot already built. The existing house –belonging to the parents-, and the new one –belonging to their sons-, must maintain a reasonable level of privacy, despite sharing the joint use of the courtyard, and without establishing a physical boundary between the two parcels.
