First phase of Norway's New Government Quarter in Oslo completes on the site of the 22 July terrorist attacks. The masterplan by Nordic Office of Architecture includes new routes and public spaces that reconnect the New Government Quarter with Oslo's historic center. The scheme brings government ministries together in an open yet secure civic landscape. Local materials and crafts are used across the new and refurbished buildings. On the site of the 22 July 2011 terrorist attack, which traumatized Norway, the first phase of the New Government Quarter (Regjeringskvartalet) in central Oslo is now complete. Nordic Office of Architecture led the architecture team, with Haptic Architects, Scenario, and i-d. Interiørarkitektur & Design, to deliver a 'design for democracy' that reopens the heart of Norway's political center, creating a new model for bringing government ministries together in an open yet secure civic landscape. The Prime Minister of Norway, government officials and staff will move into the quarters, consolidating almost all Norwegian ministries in a single, flexible campus for approximately 4,100 employees.

Čoarvemátta Cultural and Educational Hub / Snøhetta + 70°N arkitektur + Joar Nango

Snøhetta, together with 70°N architecture and artist Joar Nango, delivered the winning proposal in the architectural competition for a new Sami theatre and school building in 2021. Now, the prominent building has been inaugurated. The name Čoarvemátta comes from the Sámi words for horn and root, after the innermost and strongest part of the reindeer antlers. This symbolizes different qualities and strengths and represents elements that unite, as Čoarvemátta will be a unifying force for the institutions that share the building: the Sami National Theatre Beaivváš and the Sami High School and Reindeer Herding School.

Originally overshadowed by the grandeur of the Holmenkollen Ski Jump following its latest upgrade in 2010, the Ski Museum has undergone a transformative process to be brought back into the light. By dismantling a portion of the building beneath the ski jump and introducing a new extension and entrance, the museum now boasts enhanced accessibility and a distinct identity of its own.

KA13 Office & Coworking Building / Mad arkitekter

KA13 is located in central Oslo. A formerly dilapidated building has become a bright and fully revitalized, modern office- and coworking space. The project consists of two parts: rehabilitation of the existing building and a new extension, as well as upgraded technical facilities. The extension is predominantly made from a wide range of reused building materials, sourced from different construction sites around Norway.

The newly opened elementary school 'Borgafjellet' on the western coast of Norway, near Bergen, is unique in its combination of hybrid ventilation and solid wood on all surfaces. Located at the southernmost point of the Norwegian coastline, where the sea storms from the north and south meet, the project is situated at a unique confluence. Marine species flourish here in both briny and brackish waters to produce a natural abundance in biodiversity at the site. The Snøhetta-designed restaurant also functions as a research center for marine life, providing a tribute to the wild fauna of the sea and to the rocky coastline of Norway’s southern tip.

The new ward building for Haraldsplass Hospital, originally built in 1939, replaces the traditional hospital corridors by open common areas and efficient logistics. The site is located in Nydalen in the northern part of Oslo, a former industrial area which over the last years have been transformed into housing, offices and educational areas with the river Akerselva – a main recreational area in Oslo- flowing through the neighborhood. The project is part of a transformation plan for Spikerverket (a former nail factory) by MAD arkitekter - developed by Avantor. The master plan prepares for offices rising towards the urban side in the east, and housing towards the green low-rise areas in the west. The office buildings are designed by MAD arkitekter http://www.archdaily.com/354733/spikerverket-mad-arkitekter/, whereas April Arkitekter have designed the housing; the first step (buildings F + G) containing 40 apartments, all with access from a new square towards Nydal Street. Buildings F+G is the first two out of a total of five apartment buildings at Spikerverket.

The building is located in Fornebu, the former Oslo Airport, Norway. The new Portal building is an extension to the old Airport Terminal building housing the Business and incubation centre for information technology companies; IT-Fornebu. The Fornebu area is experiencing a surge in development, transforming a previously Airport into a new city-wide destination for business. The IT-Fornebu Portal building consists of approximately 28000 m2, was developed by the IT-Fornebu Eiendom and designed by A-lab architects.
