The Site, A Poetic Dwelling Woven by Arcs - The post station is nestled at a hairpin bend of Banhu Ridge, where the site conditions are highly challenging: adjacent to a highway on one side and flanked by steep slopes and dense bamboo forests on the other. By cleverly leveraging this unique terrain, the building unfolds along the curve of the bend, not only conforming to the alignment of the highway but also resolving the elevation difference of the steep slopes through cantilever design. The natural barrier formed by the surrounding bamboo forests endows the post station with a serene ambiance of "being hidden in the mountains", while the golden trumpet tree piercing through the roof serves as a visual focal point, infusing vitality into the rugged landscape.

Situated in the urban core section, the project is located along the southern bank of the Jiaojiang River, to the west of the Taizhou Bay estuary. It is adjacent to the Jiaojiang Bridge, the Submarine Sightseeing Base, and Hehe Avenue.Jiaojiang's riverfront development coincides with the phase-out of industrial activities on both banks. Brownfield waterfront areas are undergoing comprehensive greening and transformation into livable spaces. Taking advantage of the opportunity to upgrade the seawall, the design transforms existing structures and spaces to foster a symbiotic relationship between public areas and the seawall. The design imbues the previously detached hydraulic infrastructure with multiple functions, integrating it into the city's everyday life.

The bold use of frustum-shaped metal exterior walls reflects a contemporary aesthetic. The design initially proposes light steel structures with fiber cement cladding—using modern materials and construction to echo traditional methods, a thoughtful approach. However, we suggest adopting more common concrete structures for the exterior walls to lower technical barriers, enhance weather resistance against wind and snow, and achieve a simpler, more rustic expression that contrasts sharply with the metal roof. We also recommend adding more semi-outdoor spaces in each dwelling to create additional viewing highlights for visitors.

Nanjing University Suzhou Affiliated Primary School is located in the educational core area of Suzhou High tech Zone Science and Technology City. It is a key link in extending the scientific and technological innovation chain and building a research and learning industry hub in the eastern area of Nanjing University. It was officially put into use in September 2024. The base is surrounded by the excellent landscape pattern of 'the Taihu Lake Lake lies in the west and mountains look east'. The southeast sides are surrounded by two winding rivers, which are rich in natural resources. The unique natural advantage of being located between mountains and waters has led the design to focus on how to abandon the old model of traditional primary schools that overly emphasizes efficiency, and instead create a new type of campus complex that integrates nature, environmental education, openness, inclusiveness, and flexible spatial layout. Multiple green building technologies are used to create a resilient campus that meets the educational needs of the new era.

Initially, these structures were simple roadside refueling points designed for functionality rather than aesthetics. As automobile culture expanded, gas stations evolved to accommodate new technologies, shifting urban landscapes and changing consumer behaviors. Over time, they became more than just utilitarian stops — they developed into service hubs, integrating restaurants, motels, and leisure spaces, responding to contemporary transportation increasing demands.

The woodland and the site empower each other, shaping the life experience of meandering in the forest, and presenting a park-type site model with station-city integration.

In the beautiful scene of efficiency, convenience, and diversity brought by intelligent Internet, students have completed the survival feat of staying indoors and "I have everything in my hand". However, the shift of student life to the virtual world is bound to lead to the decline of physical space on campus. Therefore, trying to return students from the online world to the real world becomes the key point of the design.

The service station beside Suzhou RiverBridge is located on the first floor of the ceramic building at the corner of Guangfu Road, and Wuzhen Road. The ceramic building is the housing of Shanghai Ceramic Corporation, which was completed in 1990. The building's curved facade faces the corner, its horizontal lines are reinforced by long horizontal Windows, and its color-gradient painted exterior and its descending shape at the northeast corner make it stand out from the usual 20th-century residential buildings. The ground floor of the building used to be hardware, auto repair, etc., which is disconnected from the daily life of residents. Entrusted by the street, we build this place into a community post station integrating fitness, reading, community activities, and volunteer services.

We first visited the site in an early winter afternoon. Driving through the neat sequoias on both sides of Qianshao Road, we can see the water tower hidden in the dense trees. Stepping into the factory, a group of quite large-scale sawtooth-shaped factory buildings on the north side of the site conveyed the grand story with the memory of the weaving factory, while the rest of the small dilapidated buildings were scattered among the overgrown greenery and faded into the environment. This iconic group of factory buildings and water towers were kept as a memory of the site, stripped from the environment.

The Green Valley Art Center sits at the northeast end of the Xuhui CBD Central Park which is located to the east of Shanghai South Railway Station. It is designed with the vision to explore a dynamic experience of multiple interactions for public art activities. This mega-truss structure landmark provides continuous and transparent indoor and outdoor ground spaces for the park. The elevated ramp gallery links different functional areas at various heights, stimulating autonomous participation and dynamic communication across events.
