The project began with a central challenge: how to create a destination hotel on a property with limited long-distance views. Rather than organizing the experience around a distant panorama, the design constructs an internal landscape from the site itself. Preserved trees, a natural creek, planted courtyards, water, and shaded outdoor spaces become the primary points of orientation throughout the hotel.

Tres Pochotes is a single-family residence located in Playa Hermosa de Cóbano, Costa Rica. The project takes its name and spatial organization from three existing pochote trees positioned across the site. Rather than treating the vegetation as a constraint, the house is arranged around the trees, allowing them to define the geometry of the volumes, the orientation of the spaces, and the relationship between architecture and landscape.
