The new academic building of Kyoto University of the Arts, which sits across their main campus by Shirakawa Road - one of Kyoto's major north-to-south arteries - is accessible to many locally owned businesses and residential areas. The Sosho-kan building is designed to bring their newly established department to life. The four-year art education program serves as a place for students to study and embed their memories and sense of place with other students and faculty members.

Connecting via park and architecture - In order to create a lush and vibrant center of interaction, the host municipality has divided the area around Himeji Station into three main areas: an entrance zone centered on the plaza before the north exit, a core zone located to the east of the entrance zone, and an event zone. Located in the event zone, Arcrea Himeji is a hub for culture, art, and industry in the Harima area, developed in cooperation with the other zones and integrated with the site’s west-side park in order to enhance its attractiveness.

This is the planned expansion of the global training center (2008) for the Daikin industries, multinational air conditioning manufacturing company, and which has updated the overall character of the facility. It hosts skill trainers’ workshops or leadership development program as well as family recreational use and VIP reception use. The existing facility consists of classroom training block, lobby block, and accommodation block, and the expansion contains skill training block, foyer, and expansion of accommodation block.

The house is a renovation of traditional Kyoto-style machiya for a Japanese client who lives in overseas. As a vacation house in a home country to the owner, the house was designed to create a space of relaxation and atmosphere of country home.
