House Among The Trees / Wrzeszcz Architekci + mode:lina

House Among the Trees is the result of a collaboration between two studios: Wrzeszcz Architekci, responsible for the architectural design, and mode:lina™, which developed the interior concept and design. The shared ambition was to create a cohesive environment where architecture, interior space, and the surrounding landscape complement one another. The building was designed by Borys and Mariusz Wrzeszcz, while the interiors were developed by the mode:lina™ team with Anna Kazecka-Włodarczyk as lead designer and Jerzy Woźniak as co-author of the concept. The house was built on a plot densely filled with tall pine trees. From the outset, the project assumed that the building should not compete with its surroundings but instead become a natural extension of them. The architecture takes advantage of the site's potential, opening the house widely towards the landscape.

Glass bricks have been widely used in architecture, eventually becoming a staple of the 1980s architectural styles. Some examples of construction with this material could be the classic "Maison de Verre" by Pierre Chareau and Bernard Bijvoet in Paris or the more modern take of Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP with the Optical Glasshouse in Japan. In recent years, glass bricks are becoming increasingly popular, no longer relegated to older aesthetics. Instead, they have evolved into versatile design elements that bring light, texture, and character into contemporary interiors. Their ability to diffuse natural and artificial light while maintaining privacy has reignited interest among designers seeking innovative ways to enhance indoor spaces while taking advantage of natural light.

We’re TECH! This slogan portrays what lies at the heart of the ING Tech Poland team, a team that lives and breathes technologies. This creative group of talented people provides IT and analytics services for ING Group around the world. After several years of ING Tech Poland’s presence in Katowice, it was time to open a new unit in the capital – Warsaw-based RiskHub, a Modelling Expertise Centre shaping the future of risk modeling and data analysis. A prestigious space in the revitalized Elektrownia Powiśle was chosen as a location for the new office, and mode:linaTM studio was invited to design the interior. When designing the division of available space and the space plan of the new ING Tech Poland unit, creating a so-called Positive Vibe to help build a position in the labor market, was as important as the aesthetics and universal functionality of the office. The unit has therefore been arranged so as to provide each team with the necessary workspace.
