Lord Norman Foster has been announced as the recipient of the 2025 Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award by the Créateurs Design Awards. The award, now it its fifth edition, recognizes Foster's significant contributions to urban design and the environmental movement within architecture. This recognition highlights his longstanding influence and contributions to the field since founding Foster + Partners in 1967. The award ceremony will take place in Paris on January 18th, 2025.

Commissioned by the fourth generation of the Martínez Zabala Family, Foster + Partners has designed a major extension and refurbished the existing facilities at the winery. In line with the practice's unique vision and as one of Bodegas Faustino's organizational pillars, sustainability is integral to the project with a new visitor center that has been designed as a 'Planet 1.0' building.

Apple The Exchange TRX is the first Apple Store location in Malaysia, located within Kuala Lumpur’s new Tun Razak Exchange (TRX). The store’s three-dimensional layered roof emits a warm glow at night and draws people into the development. The design creates new visual and spatial connections between the mall’s central atrium and a rooftop park, which includes a lush tropical garden and a communal lawn that wraps around the store’s upper level.

Battersea Roof Gardens and 50 Electric Boulevard / Foster + Partners

Battersea Roof Gardens, a mixed-use building, and 50 Electric Boulevard, an adjacent office building with 200,000 square feet of new workspace, have both been completed. Part of the third phase of the Battersea Power Station masterplan, the two buildings sit on the western side of Electric Boulevard, a split-level high street that runs from the Zone 1 Battersea Power Station Underground station to the Grade II* listed landmark. The new buildings and high street share a gently undulating form, which has been designed to maximize views of the power station. The meandering street offers a wide range of restaurants and shops, receding and expanding at the upper level to create unique vantage points and moments of pause for people as they walk along.

30 St Mary Axe is London’s first environmental skyscraper. Located in the heart of the City of London, its distinctive form is an instantly recognisable addition to the skyline and has already become a landmark in Europe’s leading financial centre. The tower embodies a highly progressive environmental strategy, with its aerodynamic shape maximising the amount of natural lighting and ventilation to significantly reduce the building’s energy consumption. Equally important is its improved working environment with better views for everyone. It is a bold intervention in the urban landscape and is set in a generous public plaza that encourages a lively mix of urban life with shops, cafés and a restaurant.

This is the first time the Vatican City has been represented at the Venice Architecture Biennale. The ‘pavilion’, curated by Francesco Dal Co, takes the form of ten temporary chapels, each designed by a different architect. Foster + Partners has designed one of the chapels located in a wooded area at one end of the Venetian island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The starting point for the chapel’s design concept was to take three symbolic crosses set in the landscape, draped with a tent-like membrane. As the design evolved, the crosses became a tensegrity structure of cables and masts, whilst the membrane developed into a wooden latticework attached to the structure.
