Casa Ímpar stems from the transformation of a former 1990s residence, where the ground floor is reinterpreted to host a hybrid program: a curated thrift store, pieces by various independent designers, and a café. The house sheds its strictly domestic use to operate as a space for gathering, lingering, and exchange, while preserving the intimate scale that defines it.

The TN Residence project is an investigation into memory and adaptation. The owner, originally from Bahia, located in the north of Brazil, envisioned a home that would translate the tropical, sunny atmosphere of his origins to the challenging climatic context – humid and rainy – of Joinville, in Southern Brazil. Located within the Joinville Country Club, the house organizes the daily life of a couple and two children around a continuous garden, treated as an active well-being infrastructure.

This challenging project led us to reflect on the kind of architecture practice we wanted to be. After a tireless search, we found a 1980s house that had already served various commercial purposes, including retail. Despite its residual compartmentalization, the house showed potential.

Conceived as the first home for a young couple, Casa Mira emerges as a generator of experiences through dialogues between the outdoors brought inside and the indoors spilling out. Through a direct relationship between a few walls and pillars, voids are formed, which in turn create spaces.
