Theaters serve as cultural and social institutions, shaping society by providing spaces where stories of identity, race, and justice are brought to life. These venues foster community through shared, live experiences, sparking conversations that resonate beyond the stage. Architecturally, theaters are more than performance spaces—they are landmarks that embody both the history and future of the arts. Their design often reflects the cultural importance of storytelling, while their refurbishments ensure they remain relevant in a modern context.

The collaboration between Fondation Cartier and Jean Nouvel dates back to 1994 when the architect designed the "Parisian Monument," a glass and steel building on Boulevard Raspail that serves as the institution's current headquarters.

The Urban Arts Centre project is located in the southern part of the river eco-district of L’Île-Saint-Denis (just north of Paris). The main square, Place de la Batellerie, is at the center of five buildings with different functions: offices, student accommodations, a hotel, a water sports center, and our Urban Arts Centre. Planned long before Paris 2024 decided to install part of its Olympic athletes’ village here for a two-month period, this site, originally intended for a joint development zone and initiated by Plaine Commune (local housing project), has undergone a new evolution in this context. Thus, the private sector was invited to take over the cultural facility initially planned without any precise programming, and we had to articulate an architectural response to it by creating free floors suited for maximum modularity and versatility.

A spectacular testimony to the Scottish roots of its founder John Lewis Brown, Cantenac Brown’s emblematic Tudor-style château makes it one of the most remarkable properties of the 1855 classified grands crus. Scottish sheep reign supreme in its expansive parkland. The 75 hectares of vines that surround the Château are spread over the prestigious Margaux and Cantenac plateaux, offering a wine balanced between flesh and tension: full-bodied and velvety with a long finish. Upon his family’s acquisition of Château Cantenac Brown in 2019, Tristan Le Lous became the custodian of this heritage, vowing to safeguard the property’s high standards and quality. A future project was thus unveiled: the building of a cellar from raw earth and untreated wood.

It is well known that every architectural project must necessarily begin with a careful reading of what is already in place. It is trying to understand how places have evolved over the long or medium term, that can be a daunting task. Fortunately, the city has this admirable quality: it writes its history right on its streets, and by walking them, they invite us to discern their major events. Located right there: a 1970s school that now needs rebuilding, originally placed in the center of farmland without considering the surrounding urban area’s context. Furthermore, an assembly of a kindergarten and a primary school, a dining hall, and a gymnasium were constructed near the site as well.

The Garden City. This project was a challenge: building quality accommodation for one thousand residents at the heart of a limited site - in under a year. This meant solving a tricky puzzle: designing architecture that is both standardized and welcoming.

The Galeries Lafayette department store building in Annecy is one of those unexpected, almost insolent pieces of architectural heritage within an otherwise relatively homogenous town, notable for its unique history. Designed in the 1970s, the building was erected on the site with no awareness of its surroundings, heedless to context, form, alignment, or density.

They must provide a variety of spaces for education, and also consider sports and recreational activities. But beyond its size or surface, the greatest challenge is to design an area that fosters a positive pedagogical environment for children. Below, a selection of +70 school projects with their drawings to inspire your proposals for learning campuses.
