Site: A plot of land standing on the mountainside 520m above sea level and encircled by several layers of plots, similar to terraced rice fields. From there, you can appreciate a full 360° view of the surrounding landscapes. On the southern side, the South Sea is about 50 km away; on the northern side, the mountain with the stone retaining walls (built with local rocks) and a dense forest cover the western side. The road leads steeply to the top, then descends again, passes through new houses sites, and ends at a dead-end downhill road.

The neighborhood of Gyeonguiline book street nearby Hongdae, one of the hottest places in Seoul, is where memories of young cafe culture and Indie Culture exist. 1,047 of about 4,120 publishers in Mapo-gu are concentrated in Hongdae. Reflecting the local feature, the book street has been formed with an outdoor library, a bookstore, a book cafe, and etc. based on the book theme. Hanbit Publishing Network is located on the hill near the beginning of Gyeonguiline Forest. The reason why it is built on the steep hillside area was intended to focus more on publishing in the relaxing environment by keeping its distance from a crowded place. On top of that, it was meant to be designed in harmony with neighbors and built as a base camp for publishers instead of showing its presence on the main street.

The Dobongsan Transfer Center Car Park was initially planned by the Municipal Government of Seoul, as the part of a new traffic system at the boundary of the two metropolitan cities Seoul and Uijeongbu. The main purpose of this new system is to provide a place within the transportational node that enables commuters to transfer directly from individual vehicular transportation to public modes of transportation (bus or a subway). The client, Seoul Metropolitan Infrastructure Headquarters, wished to include public amenities such as a caféand a lounge. This programmatic directive allowed the typical parking building to be reimagined. The car park is no longer only a structure for connecting commuters to transportation, it is also a place for connecting people to the each other and their urban environment. In this context, the project expands the notion of a garage as a depository for vehicles to an intermediary place of transfer and connection that is the public domain for commuters.
