The site lies in a small mountain town. Along its northern edge, a natural slope carved out during land development remains exposed, now overgrown with wild vegetation and supporting a modest ecosystem. Subtle shifts in the site's topography suggest a faint continuity with the distant fields and village landscape. Using this relationship with the ground as a point of departure, the building volume is arranged to embrace a triangular garden set against the slope.

Old houses are located behind large gardens, trees, and hedges. On the other hand, relatively new houses that were built in finely divided lands aren’t able to have gardens and greens. As a result, the backs of houses reveal unintentionally and cars occupy small outside spaces.

Existing house had been planed a typical LDK in first floor, and a bay window for good view from south and southeast corner that had been aware of it in the second floor. There is approximately 600mm high difference between east extension part that has the bay windows on the second floor by original owner and other second floor, its discrepancy has occurred also in a plan, structure as well.
