In one of São Paulo’s most traditional neighborhoods, Pacaembu, the choice of a modernist house to host the new branch of Gondim Albuquerque Negreiros ADV reflects a strategic vision and institutional maturity. With over two decades of experience in the Brazilian legal landscape, the firm consolidates its 20-year history into a project that expresses its identity through this expansion. The decision to occupy a residential property — rather than a traditional commercial building — aligns with the firm’s culture: being closer to people, attentive to everyday experience, and connected to the history of the spaces it occupies.

Bringing urban aesthetics indoors, creating integrated spaces ideal for hosting friends and family, were the guidelines defined by the owner of this 120-square-meter apartment, located in São Paulo. These premises guided the interventions of architect Vinicius Almeida, principal architect at Brazilian firm StudioVA Arquitetos. For the homeowner, a young single man who spends much of his time traveling for work, the primary goal was to create a home that would serve as an anchor amidst his constant comings and goings—a refuge where he could truly settle and put down roots.

The gallery hosted its inaugural exhibition, titled *Bloco-testemunho* (Witness Block), curated by artist Mariana Tassinari with exhibition design by Felipe SS Rodrigues. According to the curator: "When excavating land to build a house, we can touch lost memories of that place. It is beautiful to think that architecture rests on a soil of stories. As they excavate an archaeological site, archaeologists preserve the witness block—an untouched portion of soil that will only be studied when new, more advanced technologies and excavation methods emerge. In their own way, each of the artists in this exhibition speaks of traces of some kind of architecture. Bricks, columns, walls, blocks, cement, stones. Elements of past and future constructions."

"Beyond the imaginary" – this was the phrase that marked the transition of the KATSUKAZAN brand from the virtual to the physical world, in its fifth year, with the opening of its first store in Pinheiros, São Paulo. The Curitiba-based bag brand, with a strong and contemporary visual identity, positions itself as urban while maintaining a deep connection to urban heritage, fostering a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Despite its high-tech aesthetic, featuring canvas fabrics and vibrant colors, the store's concept draws inspiration from old houses and street-level commerce, reflecting a new way of experiencing retail. The chosen location was a 1960s two-story house, and the primary premise for the design was to preserve as much of the original facade's characteristics as possible: from the arched doorway to the second-floor windows and the small front balcony. The storefront window, which had been altered by previous owners, was reinterpreted to offer two distinct experiences: a long, eye-level window tailored for pedestrians; and a circular structure, referencing the brand's logo, designed to be seen from afar and used interactively to accompany seasonal changes.

Originally featuring a highly segmented layout, the renovation of this São Paulo apartment, orchestrated by StudioVA arquitetos and led by architect Vinicius Almeida, aimed to integrate the main living areas. In the initial meetings, the client, a single lawyer, requested that the renovation, which followed a previous update just a few years earlier, carried out in phases. The main objective was clear: to remove the walls separating the living rooms and supporting spaces (kitchen and office) to create a visually integrated area with distinct yet partially enclosed atmospheres. To address this challenge, the project developed in stages, beginning with the bedroom, then moving to the service areas, and finally tackling the more complex social wing.
