Located in one of the first duplex blocks of Brasília's superquadras, this 294-square-meter (approx. 3,165-square-foot) apartment underwent a renovation that completely transformed its layout and atmosphere. The design sought to celebrate the building's essence by leaving the concrete beams and columns exposed, highlighting the structural materiality. At the same time, it integrated spaces to provide a fluid living experience tailored to contemporary daily life. While the original structure of the staircase was preserved, it received a new metal handrail and guardrail, turning it into a central element that defines the project's identity. The overlapping of the metal meshes that form the staircase guardrail creates a moiré effect, which gives the project its name.

The house was designed with the largest possible occupation of the land as a guideline, made possible by the extensive program compared to the available área. The desire for a pratical house, a facade with greater presence but still allowing passers-by greater comfort with adequate distance and without gates or any barriers. The plot has its first challenge in its access, with a difference in level of 90cm in its first few meters of extension. The access to the house is via a path with a small staircase, passing through the concrete gable that brings balance and a better composition to the facade, and along this path we have the presence of gardens the entire route shaded by the concrete pergola.

"Casa da Mana" is located in a gated community in Brasília. On a plot of just over 600 square meters, it was necessary to prioritize the placement of the project. On a lot with no particular features or sharp slopes, and with sparse pre-existing vegetation, located in a residential gated community in Manaus, the project focused primarily on adapting to the local climate, which served as the main force shaping the final volume. Built in reinforced concrete with flat post-tensioned slabs, the house distributes two elongated pavilions along the perpendicular axes of the lot. This layout optimizes spatial use and creates a central social area that directs the home's views inward, giving this unbuilt void a hierarchical value.
