Greenville involves the renovation and partial restoration of the existing main building of the Houthalen-Helchteren mine site into an incubator for the cleantech industry. The incubator is part of the Cleantech Campus for which a master plan was recently drafted. The Cleantech Campus is in turn part of a redevelopment plan for the centre of Houthalen-Helchteren, which among others comprises the development of parklands, a residential zone and the NAC.

This project comprises the inner-city renovation of a 1950s office building into a fire station. The project site is located in Sint-Jacobsmarkt, inside the Boulevards and is therefore part of the old city centre inside the 16th century city walls. The multiple historical facades which form part of the surrounding streetscape testify to this.

The ‘Den Draad’ project consists of two new residential buildings on a brownfield site which is earmarked for redevelopment into a new, sustainable residential zone and a green neighbourhood park of 1.5 ha. In this context, the margins of the existing block are completed with new residences. On the boundary between the park and this new street façade, two residential buildings have been conceived, which assume a prominent position at the edge of the new park zone. The buildings were positioned as a function of optimal and cost-effective soil decontamination. They constitute the point of transition between a residential area with continuous blocks and a public park.

The 'Fabriek', located on a corner in Schaerbeek bordering Noordwijk is renovated into the home base for the organisation Art Basics for Children. The location of the old industrial complex is characteristic of the friction between the corporate office environment of Noordwijk and the heterogeneous urban fabric of Schaerbeek. The underlying goal of the renovation of the 'Fabriek' is to allow space for ABC to work in this urban field of tension between the corporate and socio-cultural environment surrounding the site.
