Located in a low-density residential area in the coastal city of Mar del Plata, the PSS houses are situated as a block-completion operation on a 10 x 23-meter lot between party walls, seeking to consolidate the existing fabric by occupying an urban void, with the goal of making more sustainable use of the city's available resources and infrastructure. The site's boundary conditions are unique, as it is positioned in relation to one of the city's main avenues—a relevant factor used as a design tool for material and technological explorations of the boundary and spatial organization strategies. The dwellings are arranged on the site in a compact layout, taking the party walls as boundaries and reclaiming the occupied footprint through the integration of the rooftop as a livable outdoor space.
