The client's brief was to design a new retirement home on the site of a former orchard adjacent to a hospital. The building is conceived as four independently functioning households for approximately 60 residents, fully barrier-free. An orchard and brick walls near a cemetery with a church, a historic town with a beautiful town hall. Tall trees. And then old age as a phenomenon—calm, silence, brick as the archetype of home. The proximity of the hospital and cemetery may invite bitter associations; here, however, we see quality, an image of quiet and contemplation, an image of the peaceful edge of town. A chateau-like, symmetrical, almost classicist layout brings atriums, gardens, views, and abundant daylight into the Home. Old age is one of today's European themes. How do we approach ageing? What do we do for older people, how do we perceive them, what do we offer them, and what do we ask of them? What is it like to be an elderly person in the Czech Republic in 2026?

Rope shop is located on the ground floor of an apartment building from the 19th century in the center of Prague in Mala Strana. In the past, there were made many adaptations and adjustments, but none of them had its quality. Spaces were divided into three parts and the full height of each room was interrupted by a full inserted floor. Shops were confined, neglected, and confusing.

The landscape of the Sokolovsko region surprised us with its beauty, which we had no idea about before. All more because of that it was interesting for us to design the house in this for our new location. The slightly sloping plot is located at the end of the small city near the forest. We wanted the house to float into the landscape so that the architecture blends from the city to nature with trees and ponds. We have preserved the original birches and other trees and incorporate them into each garden area.

How to design a family house in a rural area of the 21st century, preserve the best traditions and add the best features of contemporary architecture? Our answer to this challenge is a rural house J, which is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Slovak house with a “gánok”, a kind of a corridor (the Slovak word “gánok” originated from German - Gang). The house lies at the end of a picturesque village in Záhorie in western Slovakia. Just as there used to be a solid house for living and a wooden barn next to it in the past, today we have designed a brick house as a living area and next to it a wooden structure as a garage.

The Bistro is situated on the corner of Dejvicka and Eliasova street in Prague in what was originally an Art Nouveau bulding puristically modified in 1929. During the Art Neauveau period there was a Morning taproom which was converted in 1929 to a Bata shop with interesting landings. Unfortunately nothing has been preserved and before our reconstruction the area was in a very dilapidated state. We designed a complete reconstruction of the space and facade on the ground floor. Window replacement was essential, when solid metal landings were replaced by sash windows which blend the space with the street.
