Set within a 504 m² plot in a dense residential fabric, Villa H explores the balance between compactness and openness — an exercise in clarity, light, and restraint. The project stems from a challenge: accommodating a generous domestic program while preserving a sense of space and calm. The villa unfolds across three levels: a generous basement hosting the technical and leisure areas along with the parking, a compact ground floor freeing a wide garden with a pool, and an upper level comprising four sunlit suites.

Villa Air is a distilled expression of contemporary architecture rooted in the Tunisian landscape. Set within a two-hectare plot in Morneg, this 1,500 m² residence unfolds as a meditative dialogue between built form and topography. The site, defined by its gentle slope and sweeping views, culminates in the striking silhouette of the Jbal Errsas mountain range—a natural horizon that anchors the architectural narrative. From the outset, the project embraces a central duality: the tension between gravitas and lightness, between groundedness and suspension. This dialectic, subtly embedded in the villa's name, structures the entire composition. Distributed across three levels, the house is articulated as a series of horizontal strata punctuated by bold cantilevers. These projections—remarkably slender at just 45 cm thick—embody both structural daring and environmental responsiveness, casting precise shadow lines that temper the Mediterranean sun.

There is often an intricate relationship between architecture and the environment. Each part of the world has defined its own architectural techniques based on its unique climatic conditions. However, environmental concerns in the 21st century provoked new techniques, implementing solutions to preserve natural resources and provide thermal comfort. While some opted for a futuristic approach with mechanical and technologically-advanced solutions, others decided to go back in time and explore how civilizations protected their people, architecture, and environment when they had nothing else to resort to but the environment itself. In this article, we look at how Musharrabiyas found their way back into modern-day architecture as significant vernacular features.

An emblematic building that marked the urban expansion of Tunis and one of its very first business districts is getting a facelift from top to bottom. ETRATON reinvents the structure thirty years later, preserving some of its old distinctive features and resuscitating the building’s role as an urban landmark bordering a main artery of the capital city. ETRATON’s ground floor hosts a double-height car showroom and highlights the sculptural aspect of the old staircase. All other floors are dedicated to office spaces. The building’s corner entrance is given particular attention and imitates the pointy lifting of a stage curtain announcing a spectacle of light and landscapes.

For this specific type of projects that will welcome patients in search of healing, we wanted the concept to present a positive contribution on the psychology of the operators. And that’s how we were inspired by Nature. 3 main elements have been chosen to be reflected on the mass of the project: WATER, VEGETATION and SUN, dividing it into three cubic pavilions.
