Westerschans 1B is the second phase of the urban development integration plan that Jeanne Dekkers Architectuur and ZOETMULDER designed for the entire Westerschans area. This development consists of three building complexes with a varied program of social housing, owner-occupied apartments, commercial spaces, sheltered housing, a supermarket, catering establishments and a hotel. The Westerschans area directly borders the historic city centre of Goes, the ring-road, and the water of the Havenkanaal.

This multifunctional apartment building contains a large supermarket, retail space, and 83 social rental homes, of which 13 are quay-side houses. Westerschans 1A is the first phase of the new residential, work, and leisure area on the edge of central Goes. The Westerschans area directly borders the historic city centre, the ring-road, and the water of the Havenkanaal. Westerschans 1A is part of the urban development plan that Jeanne Dekkers Architectuur and ZOETMULDER designed for the entire Westerschans area.

‘Zicht Zag’ by ZOETMULDER in the ruins of a burned down church in Rotterdam Dutch design agency ZOETMULDER designed a folly, an intentionally useless structure, to give new meaning to the ruins of the burned down Juliana Church in Rotterdam. The minimal design and natural materialization enhance the experience of these bittersweet yet beautiful surroundings. Fate strikes on August 6, 2017. The Juliana Church on Heijplaat, in the harbour of Rotterdam, burns down. ZOETMULDER looked at it as a spatial gift, a publicly accessible space: Julianaplein. A new village square for the residents of Heijplaat.
