For over twenty years the family's favorite destination, Casa ADS, located on Baleia Beach in São Sebastião, on the coast of São Paulo, underwent its first major renovation, designed by the firm VOA Arquitetura. The house, which was outdated and ill-suited to the residents' current needs, had to open up to the landscape and adapt to a new way of living.

The apartment, which was previously highly compartmentalized, had its original layout almost completely modified. Bringing the strength of the feminine and the lightness of shapes were the guiding concepts of this project. Dividing the program between the two floors was decisive for the client's routine, just as integrating the living room with the kitchen was fundamental to the functionality of the spaces. The kitchen is almost like an extension of the living room; for this reason, the choice of materials was an important factor, with the terrazzo countertop and the mix of wood ensuring a seamless and interesting transition.

The apartment is located in the Riachuelo Building, designed in 1972 by architect Ruy Ohtake. The project sought to explore and highlight the building's original construction elements, particularly the large windows. Demolishing the original walls between the dining room, hallway, and kitchen made it possible to not only integrate these spaces but also ensure that natural light and cross-ventilation became defining features of the apartment.

This project for the YOU Collection Alves Guimarães model apartment took its starting point from the unique characteristics of the building's tower, designed by Triptyque. As required by the development, the colors of the facade had to be incorporated into the interior, influencing both the concept and the choice of materials.

The 570 m² LAC House had already undergone several renovations since its original construction, but with the arrival of its new residents, a major new overhaul was required. Located in a predominantly residential neighborhood, the design sought to emphasize its surroundings and make the most of the lack of high-rise buildings. Incorporating significant structural reinforcement, a large rooftop was developed on the upper deck, perfect for entertaining friends and enjoying the views.

The project began during a highly significant phase for this young family, which was about to grow. Given this milestone for the clients, their home also needed to expand and transform, prompting us to rethink the entire original floor plan. The 230-square-meter apartment previously consisted of several small spaces with chamfers and poorly utilized corners; therefore, the starting point for the design was to demolish the walls and integrate the areas to their maximum potential. Because the living room sits on a different level from the kitchen and bedrooms, the spaces remain integrated, yet a visual barrier naturally defines the function of each area.
