Design of a house located on a 1-hectare rural property in Cunha, São Paulo, situated on a plot of land that had been previously cleared for sale, a common situation in rural subdivisions in São Paulo. In this context, in addition to the architectural design of the residence, an environmental analysis of the existing rural network and a study of the other programs located throughout the property were requested.

The project consists of transforming a 450 m² residence located in the Alto de Pinheiros neighborhood in São Paulo into five autonomous residential units, with areas ranging from 60 to 100 m² each. The goal is to ensure that the new units maintain the character of a home, always with outdoor areas that expand and integrate the internal spaces.

Cafezinn Café / Vapor arquitetura

We present the idea of a house square as a counterpoint to the commercial surroundings. The highlight of the new café, therefore, would be the opposition to the surroundings and this possibility of an open square to the street, valuing the existing house as a kind of refuge, of retreat.

Mica Chocolates Shop and Factory / Vapor arquitetura

A factory store is transparent and open to the manufacturing processes. Located in a ground-floor property in the Pinheiros neighborhood in São Paulo, the remaining casario of the workers' houses from the early twentieth century and typical of this commercial neighborhood. One challenge of this project was the installation of the operational areas of the factory store within the original typology of the house: an update of the uses of a city that no longer erases itself and that maintains its previous buildings.
