Situated in the urban core section, the project is located along the southern bank of the Jiaojiang River, to the west of the Taizhou Bay estuary. It is adjacent to the Jiaojiang Bridge, the Submarine Sightseeing Base, and Hehe Avenue.Jiaojiang's riverfront development coincides with the phase-out of industrial activities on both banks. Brownfield waterfront areas are undergoing comprehensive greening and transformation into livable spaces. Taking advantage of the opportunity to upgrade the seawall, the design transforms existing structures and spaces to foster a symbiotic relationship between public areas and the seawall. The design imbues the previously detached hydraulic infrastructure with multiple functions, integrating it into the city's everyday life.

South Sanlin Station is located on the east side of the Huangpu River, in the outer ring ecological corridor, surrounded by natural landscapes and villages, and mainly serves ecological leisure functions. The design of the station is based on the concept of "Meandering In Forest", generating architectural forms from the environment and dissolving the boundary between subway construction and urban forest belts. The woodland and the site empower each other, shaping the life experience of meandering in the forest, and presenting a park-type site model with station-city integration.

It’s part of the 12-kilometer waterfront public space renovation project in the Binjiang District of Hangzhou, undertaken by the Original Design Studio of TJAD. The Jianshi Station was renovated from the Holiday Garden restaurant. Based on the investigation of the site, we found that the roof truss and the facade of the building were dilapidated, and structural columns covered with stone appeared so thick. On the north side of the site located a garden with overgrown plants that concealed the rockery and even the main building. When we reached the top of the building, there was a wide view around us, and we wanted to share this unique perspective with more people.

Due to the Xiaoshan Shiplock, pedestrians and motor vehicles mixed in the narrow passage. It was a breakpoint in the waterfront space. The design of the silk bridge achieves the continuity of the sports track. The route originally needed to bypass the ship lock has now become a passage with a frontline view of the Qiantang River. Hence, the largest urban breakpoint in the waterfront public space of Binjiang District has been connected. It provides convenient transportation for citizens and serves as a platform for walking and sightseeing, enhancing the viewing and diversity of the landscape along the way.

The Renovation of Children's Paradise. To solve the problems of flat and monotonous cycling and running tracks, lack of connection between the hinterland and the riverside area, and limited service facilities, we have synchronously renovated the public space around the service station.
Sanqiao Asian Games Park is located on the south bank of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou's Binjiang District. The design aims to "build a new waterfront that combines urban, cultural, ecological, intelligent, local, and forward-looking characteristics." It is the advanced phase of the 12-kilometer waterfront public space renovation project in Binjiang District of Hangzhou, undertaken by the Original Design Studio of TJAD. This project is a key Hangzhou's Binjiang District initiative to welcome the Asian Games. It profoundly embodies the Asian Games preparation philosophy of 'hosting a good event and uplifting a city.' The design follows the overall planning concept of "orange-blue ribbon, super seawall, urban slice" — transitioning from "Asian Games" to "Asian Games+," connecting a 17.4-kilometer urban sports experience belt without walls; moving from "safety" to "safety+," constructing a super new seawall that combines multiple functions and various activities; transitioning from "every day" to " everyday+," creating a set of multi-themed urban slices that establish a connection between waterfront public spaces and the hinterland.

The first sight. Approximately 3.5km in length, THE XILI LAKE GREENWAY (Phase I) in Shenzhen extends between the outer circle of the water source protection area and various urban sites. This project began with some attempt to amplify this linearly compressed space. The northern section of the greenway is already deep in the mountains. In the gap between the woodland boundary, the basic agricultural land, and the water source protection boundary, we found this site occupied by some haphazard work sheds. On the side of the site is the Yanqing Drain, a flood interceptor that has just been completed as well as a disused fish pond and a few broken fishing shelters. However, with the surrounding lychee forest and a distant view of Xili Lake and Yangtai Hill, the site itself has a valuable quality of being a place to immerse oneself in, and a place to introduce the natural scenery from the outside.

The service station beside Suzhou RiverBridge is located on the first floor of the ceramic building at the corner of Guangfu Road, and Wuzhen Road. The ceramic building is the housing of Shanghai Ceramic Corporation, which was completed in 1990. The building's curved facade faces the corner, its horizontal lines are reinforced by long horizontal Windows, and its color-gradient painted exterior and its descending shape at the northeast corner make it stand out from the usual 20th-century residential buildings. The ground floor of the building used to be hardware, auto repair, etc., which is disconnected from the daily life of residents. Entrusted by the street, we build this place into a community post station integrating fitness, reading, community activities, and volunteer services.

We first visited the site in an early winter afternoon. Driving through the neat sequoias on both sides of Qianshao Road, we can see the water tower hidden in the dense trees. Stepping into the factory, a group of quite large-scale sawtooth-shaped factory buildings on the north side of the site conveyed the grand story with the memory of the weaving factory, while the rest of the small dilapidated buildings were scattered among the overgrown greenery and faded into the environment. This iconic group of factory buildings and water towers were kept as a memory of the site, stripped from the environment.

The conference center is located in the northwest corner of the weaving factory. The original traces of the site are a group of small dilapidated buildings scattered among the overgrown greenery, which are naturally connected to the vast wheat fields on the north side under the cover of trees. In order to maintain the continuity of this site, we have integrated and reshaped the original buildings and spaces by using a single-story landscaping strategy. Based on the advantages of natural landscape conditions and the qualities of spatial extension, the building was initially designed as a characteristic art space and subsequently transformed into a conference center to meet the needs of a variety of activities as required by the overall functional planning of the park.

Shenzhen International Low-carbon City Convention and Exhibition Center is located in Longgang District, Shenzhen, China, adjacent to the ecological riparian of the Dingshan River. The three existing venues used to be the place for the first “Shenzhen International Low-Carbon City Forum” in 2013. In December of the same year after the renovation was completed, the “2021 Carbon Peak Carbon Neutral Forum and the 9th Shenzhen International Low-Carbon Forum” were held. The main bodies of the three venues (Low-carbon Exhibition Hall, Low-carbon Conference Hall, and Low-carbon Trading Hall) before transformation were steel frame structures. The venues were huge with monotonous and closed interior spaces. They were unable to meet the requirements of the conference for the organization of conference affairs and the display of low-carbon technology concepts. Under the constraints of the existing conditions, the design strategy of limited intervention is adapted to open the closed external interface, dissolve the huge scale of the venue itself, and connect it with the natural ecological shoreline of Dingshan River by softening and remodeling the site. Taking the Hall of Breathing, the Corridor of Vitality, the Boxes of Ecology, and the Hills of Growth as the overall planning structure, we will create a "low-carbon city" where we can breathe freely, grow naturally in the environment, and truly integrate green into daily life".
